What magazines do you subscribe to, and why?

Consumer Reports.  It's boring but true.  They're great at helping me avoid scams.

What was your favorite candy when you were a kid? How does that compare to now?

I used to love Twix bars.  The caramel was just too much for me.  These days I don't really like sweets very much.  Instead I like steak.

Summer rolls

Hell yeah!  That's one great thing about working at the campus of a large company.  Not only is food available at a decent price and close by, but you can get healthy stuff.  So I started my day off with an Iced Mandarin Mocha and Summer Rolls with Sweet Chili Sauce.  Delish. 

Gatorade

I'm up and it's early.  Really early.  What the hell.  I'm checking out some new Gatorade...That Endurance Formula stuff.  I got five bottles of it for free when I bought some tools for bike maintenance last month.  Tastes about the same to me so I don't know what the difference is supposed to be.  It does come in a bottle shape that would probably fit in a bike rack more easily. 

I suppose I can at least finish my laundry.  Which I need to do as it appears that some of my clothes have gone missing again and I will need to shop to replace them soon.

Coyote Blue

I'm halfway through Coyote Blue and having a wonderful time as always reading Christopher Moore's stuff.  Also doing laundry, but the quote was so good I had to hop online and share.

Did some Acrylic painting last night.  This is the first time I've ever used a...well I don't know what to call it.  It's like a small plastic trowel?  Anyhow, it was interesting to work with so much more paint.  The texture was really interesting.

Carabbas

Had some nice Fettucine Marconi, Calamari and a bottle of Folie a Deux Cabernet Sauvignon for dinner.  Then headed over to Sheridan's for a Grasshopper custard.  It was choice.  All of it.

Jack and Coke.  Only I use Ten High whiskey which still tastes good due to the aging in charred oak casks only it's dirt cheap compared to Jack Daniels.

What's one thing that you hope to do or accomplish before the end of this year?

I'm hoping to buy a new house.  I like my current house, but it's way too large for me.  So I think I'm going to buy a nice historical home in the ghetto and fix it up.  I live in KC and we've got some killer pre-WWI architecture that no one wants to live in any more.  But I want to buy with cash and that's going to take a few more months to save up.

Finally got the capture card to capture traffic.  Now I've loaded the mythtvbackend and am populating the database.  I hope that I can get this bitch up and running soon.  I'm getting tired of sneakernetting Tour de France from my dvd-burner/tivo to my computer and then ripping it to the hard drive. 

Insane boss tells me that they don't want to give me a raise on the day when yet another person quits our team.  These guys are nuts.  I'm getting out of there and getting a promotion to boot.  They can take their insanity and bath in it.
